| Requested item | Details to include | Workshop work to identify |
|---|---|---|
| Flat PVC-faced sheet | Requested sheet format, finished thickness, film reference, one or two faces and the reverse. | Cutting, edge banding, holes, hardware and assembly after delivery. |
| Blank or profiled part for later covering | Part drawing, MDF core, machining, surface preparation and intended film/forming route. | Who will apply the film, trim it, finish the reverse and complete the part. |
| Finished film-covered component | Complete dimensions, profile, film identity, covered faces, reverse, fittings and finish reference. | Included processing, assembly and any remaining operations at your workshop. |
For a requested 18 mm completed panel, specify the total as the finished dimension. Keep the film, reverse and bonding layers separate from the MDF core gauge. A quoted 18 mm core with additional layers describes a different completed thickness and may change groove or hardware fit.
Number the drawing features and identify the reference face for a pocket or machining depth. State whether part dimensions are measured before or after trimming, edge banding or wrapping. These details make the quoted tolerances useful for the component rather than just the sheet.

The 18 mm links use a requested finished drawing dimension; actual core, film, reverse and bonding gauges are identified in the offer. Flat sheets, uncovered profiled blanks and complete film-covered parts carry different processing scopes. Keep the selected scope with the item price and sample reference.
Flat panels and formed fronts: which item do you need?
A PVC-faced flat sheet and a film-covered profiled door are different purchase items. For a formed front, describe the profile, radius, film, reverse and forming route. RENOLIT’s processing guide distinguishes flat lamination, profile wrapping and three-dimensional thermoforming. Discuss the appropriate film and process with the component drawing before selecting the order.
A smooth sheet and a covered profile use different finishing sequences.
Machining a groove through an already faced flat sheet removes the decorative surface in that feature. If the design requires continuous film over a recess and edge, send the unfinished part geometry and covering route with the inquiry. Include profile depth, inside corners, radii and the reverse detail rather than treating every PVC film as a forming grade.
RENOLIT’s processing overview distinguishes flat lamination, wrapping and three-dimensional thermoforming. Select the film and bonding process for your own component. The processing reference describes material routes; your quotation should name the route and delivered item being proposed.
COMPARE OPTIONS
Your selection at a glance
Finish and appearance
Bring a decor reference or physical sample with the texture, sheen and grain direction; discuss the available film and its thickness.
Core and reverse
Specify the MDF substrate, single or double PVC faces and the back treatment. Finished thickness and format are confirmed with your quote.
Workshop route
Describe sheet stock or the requested component, with edge details, drawings and the intended fabrication process.
SEE THE SURFACE. TRY THE FINISHED DETAIL.
Make the sample work for your workshop.
A faced sample helps you choose the look. An edged corner or the intended furniture part helps you review how that look carries through production.
- Bring the referenceShare the decor, texture and sheen you want, plus the finished thickness, reverse and sample size.
- Trial the detailUse your planned cutting, edging and hardware. For a formed part, discuss the drawing and proposed film/process before arranging the trial.
- Retain the selected itemKeep the film and edge references, back treatment and drawing revision with the physical component sample.
Samples are free; the buyer pays courier freight. A freight credit toward a later order can be agreed. Include the delivery country and the finish or workshop checks you want the sample to support.
Use a corner or profile as the purchase reference.
For flat board stock, cut and edge a representative corner with the planned tooling and edge material. Inspect the trimmed film, joint, exposed core and hardware openings before judging the completed surface. Keep the finishing sequence with the selected reference.
For a covered profile, include the deepest recess, corner and return in the requested trial part. Review the visible film and bond around those details after the proposed process, with the reverse and completed dimensions recorded. Keep the film and adhesive references, drawing revision and observations together for the item you choose.
Acceptance worksheet
Keep the surface and component observations together.
Use one record for the decor selection, workshop trial and purchasing handover. Add the actual panel construction and the conditions under which the sample was evaluated.

THE DATA BEHIND YOUR SELECTED FINISH
Connect the film reference to the board you will buy.
Request information for the proposed PVC facing and MDF substrate with your intended use. Keep the film, reverse, adhesive and finished thickness identifiable in the product description.
If the project specifies scratch, stain, cleaning, heat or other surface tests, send the method and required result. For a formed component, include the profile and processing conditions needed in its technical review.
Ask for destination-market documents with the actual substrate and finish named. This keeps the board data, decorative-surface information and any finished-system requirement connected to your purchase item.
Ask for the data that answers the component question.
Scroll horizontally to compare all columns.
| Component question | Material information | Keep with the drawing |
|---|---|---|
| Will the finish match the furniture range? | Exact PVC reference, colour, texture, sheen and direction. | Physical finish, neighbouring fronts, edge reference and viewing conditions. |
| What will the surface encounter? | Relevant scratch, stain, cleaning, heat or other named test data and care instructions. | The intended use and exposure, plus the requested test method and acceptance criteria. |
| How will the film cover the detail? | Film grade and gauge, bonding system and processing instructions for the intended route. | Profile, corner and radius, forming sequence, reverse and trimming detail. |
| How will the complete part fit? | Core identity, completed thickness, dimensional tolerance and flatness requirement. | Part size, reference face, pockets, joints, supports and fittings. |
| Which market documents are needed? | Substrate emission method and any finished-system or project documents requested. | Destination, application and the actual panel construction. |
Keep film performance, MDF emissions and completed-part fit as separate lines in the technical package. State the specific property your project needs, rather than asking for an undefined “PVC certificate.” A film data sheet and a board report identify different materials within the same furniture item.

HELP THE FINISH ARRIVE IN ORDER
Keep faces protected and matched parts easy to find.
Discuss face and corner protection, bundle separation and labels for each finish. For directional or adjoining parts, include grain arrows, set codes and the receiving sequence in the packing instructions.
Arrange dry, supported storage before fabrication, following the proposed film and panel instructions. Check decor, back treatment, dimensions and surface condition against the schedule at receiving. The incoming panel checklist provides a practical record before the boards enter your workshop.
Keep the finish sequence intact after delivery.
At receiving, match each package to the film reference, reverse, finished dimensions and item or set code. Inspect faces, corners and edges before fabrication, and record quantities or damage against the packing list. Use any protective-film removal instructions supplied for the proposed surface.
Retain the finish and corner reference for repeat purchases. Review any change to film identity, sheen, texture, core, reverse, adhesive, profile or edge before placing the next run. A visually similar replacement may change the process or the appearance of adjoining parts.
A FINISH YOUR FURNITURE RANGE CAN BUILD ON
Bring the look from your design into the finished piece.
Compare your film requirement with HPL and melamine using our furniture surface comparison guide, with the profile, reverse, edge and finished reference kept together.

The right furniture finish should look good across the front, the edge and the next component beside it. Start with the surface you want your customers to see.
CUZI supplies PVC faced MDF with single-sided and double-sided options. Send your decor reference, furniture drawing or physical sample. We can work through the film, MDF substrate, reverse and edge detail with you, then arrange a faced sample before your container order.
PVC faced MDF uses a decorative PVC film applied to the MDF substrate. The European Panel Federation describes MDF as a substrate for PVC foils. Identify the actual film and complete board construction when selecting a furniture surface.
For a glossy decorative component, use the high gloss MDF finish brief to describe the physical master, sheen and viewing conditions. Confirm the proposed surface system and edge alongside the PVC construction.
If the specification names PET, use the PET laminated MDF route with the selected film, finish and complete construction. Keep film identity explicit when comparing visually similar furniture fronts.
Your purchasing brief should carry the finish all the way to the assembled furniture: the selected film, the visible corner, the reverse and the neighbouring front. Order those details as one defined item. A decorative sheet for your workshop and a completed film-covered door carry different materials, operations and delivery expectations.
PLAN THE FINISH WHERE IT WILL BE SEEN
What will your PVC MDF become?
Cabinet and wardrobe fronts
Coordinate adjoining doors and drawer fronts with the same decor reference. Mark grain direction, reverse finish, edge treatment and hinge positions before choosing the panel.
Furniture components
Organise decorative panels by the finished piece and visible face. Trial cutting, edging, joints and hardware using the board construction planned for your production.
Interior furniture packages
Connect reception fronts, storage units and display furniture through a shared finish schedule. Include the part sequence, supporting frame, joints and cleaning conditions.
For kitchen locations or other demanding interiors, describe heat sources, moisture exposure and cleaning needs. Include the film, core, adhesive, exposed edges and fittings when reviewing the component’s intended use.
Specify the finish where separate parts meet.
Place a door, drawer front and edge reference together in the lighting planned for the furniture. Compare colour, texture and sheen from the viewing positions the customer will use. Mark grain arrows and any sequence requirement on the adjoining parts, including the side panel at the end of the run.
For kitchen or utility furniture, identify the nearby heat source, likely splash or steam exposure, cleaning products and ventilation. Include exposed edges, hinge pockets and openings in the finished-part specification. Request the chosen film and bonding system’s service and cleaning instructions, together with the substrate information for those conditions.
PLAN AN ADJOINING SET OF FRONTS
Make the door, drawer and edge one finish set.
- Visible finish
- One selected PVC decor reference, texture and sheen, with the intended grain direction marked on each front.
- Board and reverse
- Finished thickness, MDF designation and core thickness, plus the chosen single/double-sided arrangement and back reference.
- Component detail
- Flat edged sheet or a requested formed profile, with corner, hinge and joint details shown on the drawing.
- Purchase schedule
- Fronts grouped by furniture set, with quantities, finish references, sample identity and drawing revision.
Arrange neighbouring fronts under the lighting planned for the room. Review the face-to-edge joint and the complete part fit before carrying that reference into the production order.
Convert furniture sets into a clear component quantity.
For a planned run of 120 furniture sets, each with two 450 × 720 mm rectangular door blanks and four 450 × 180 mm drawer-front blanks, the schedule below calculates the part quantities and net blank area. It excludes cutting gaps, edge trim, machining allowances, defects and a production reserve.
Scroll horizontally to compare all columns.
| Component blank | Per set | Total quantity | Area per blank | Total blank area |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Door · 450 × 720 mm | 2 | 240 | 0.324 m² | 77.76 m² |
| Drawer front · 450 × 180 mm | 4 | 480 | 0.081 m² | 38.88 m² |
| Complete run | 720 blanks | Before process allowances | 116.64 m² | |
These figures describe blank demand, rather than the sheet order. Send the complete list with requested sheet dimensions, direction restrictions and the allowances required by your process. The cutting plan and proposed formats will determine purchased sheets and usable component cost.
If the listed sizes are completed wrapped or edged dimensions, prepare the actual core or blank sizes from the drawing before nesting. Group adjoining pieces by set and mark any pattern sequence that prevents independent rotation. Carry those groups into pack labels so the workshop can assemble the finish you selected.
A CONTAINER BUILT AROUND YOUR FURNITURE RANGE
Give each finish and panel its own order line.
Order from a one-container minimum, with mixed loads available. List the PVC decors, finished thicknesses, formats and reverse arrangements by item; combine them with other MDF or plywood products in the purchase schedule.
Regular production takes 10–15 days, with shipping time additional. Share the selected surface, sample requirements and destination when discussing the production plan. We quote FOB or CIF with the named port and itemised order.
Use the mixed-panel order schedule to keep your finishes and quantities clear. Wholesale MDF purchasing helps organise the broader stock or workshop mix.
Compare the film-covered item, not an ambiguous finish name.
Use the same film reference, core, reverse, completed thickness and dimensions across quotations. Record whether each offer covers flat sheets, cut blanks, profiled parts or completed components. List included cutting, covering, edging and packing alongside the price unit and item quantity.
Compare delivered material and remaining workshop operations per usable component. Keep the selected face, back, edge and drawing on one item code, with each matching set identifiable. Name the same FOB or CIF port and required receiving date when comparing delivery scope.
FAQ
PVC MDF questions for your buying team.
What is PVC faced MDF?
It is MDF with a decorative PVC film facing. Specify the film reference and thickness alongside the MDF core, reverse and total panel thickness for the finished item.
Can the PVC face be on both sides?
Single-sided and double-sided PVC arrangements are available. Identify the appearance and treatment of each face, including the reverse of a single-sided panel.
What film thicknesses and surface effects are available?
Film thickness, available colours, textures and sheen are confirmed for the selected PVC reference when quoting. Share the physical finish you want to match and the component it will be used on.
What do you need to match a finish?
Send a decor reference or physical sample with the texture, sheen and grain direction. Compare the proposed faced panel beside its edge detail and neighbouring furniture components.
Is a PVC-faced sheet the same as a thermofoil door?
A film-faced sheet and a film-covered profiled door have different processing and component specifications. Describe whether you need flat board stock or a formed part, with the film, drawing and process requirements.
Can I route the panel after it is faced?
Machining through a decorative face exposes the MDF beneath it. Send the profile and finish sequence you plan to use. Review the proposed cutting, forming, edge or coating treatment on the intended component.
Is PVC the same material as PET?
PVC and PET are different film materials. Name PVC in the facing specification and identify its exact reference when comparing a quotation or sample.
Does the surface make the whole panel waterproof?
The MDF substrate, exposed edges, joints and fittings also influence the complete component’s suitability. Describe the intended moisture exposure and request the relevant core, film and construction information.
Can I get a finished-detail sample?
Send the required sample size, decor, reverse and edge detail with your intended use. Samples are free, with courier freight paid by the buyer; a freight credit for a later order can be agreed.
Can PVC MDF be included in a mixed container?
Yes. Mixed loads are available from one container. List the PVC panel specifications and quantities separately from your other board products so the quotation and pack labels follow your item schedule.
How do I start a FOB or CIF quotation?
Share the decor, finished thickness, dimensions, quantity and destination port. Add the reverse and component drawing where you have them; we can discuss the remaining panel choices with you.
Which PVC panel thicknesses and formats can I order?
Send the finished thickness and width × length you need. Available sizes, film thickness, decor and back treatment are confirmed with the selected film and panel construction in your quotation.
