How to choose a plywood manufacturer in China
Choose a China plywood manufacturer by the construction it can supply for your product, its sample results and its ability to deliver the agreed order. Start with face and back, full core, bond, dimensions and quantity; compare every supplier on that same specification.
For furniture, focus on usable cuts, hardware fit and finish. For formwork, focus on the specified overlay, core and panel properties. For a mixed container, compare item coordination, bundle identification and the complete shipping schedule.
- Find the relevant supply: the product category and actual producer for your proposed item.
- Compare the same panel: construction, sample, supplied work, price unit and delivery scope.
- Carry it into the shipment: agreed revision, lot checks, bundle labels and receiving records.

From a supplier shortlist to a panel quotation
Choose the relevant product route: commercial plywood for general fabrication, birch plywood for machined furniture or marine plywood for a specified component. Give competing offers the same dimensions, quantity, sample question and delivery scope so the material comparison remains useful.
Shortlist suppliers by the panel you need
Use the product and production task below to choose which supplier capability to investigate first. A catalogue match starts the shortlist; a matching sample and written specification make the offer comparable.
Scroll horizontally to compare all columns.
| Your order | Capability to compare | Useful first sample |
|---|---|---|
| Cabinet or CNC furniture panels | Consistent full core, face/back selection, thickness and machining quality. | A cut part with the actual joint, hinge or routed edge. |
| Film faced or shuttering plywood | Overlay and core construction, edge treatment and the panel data required by the formwork design. | A working face and cut edge, followed by the specified concrete-contact trial. |
| Decorative plywood | Veneer species, cut, matching, colour range and coordinated panel sequence. | Adjacent veneer faces with the intended coating and finished corner. |
| Mixed plywood and MDF container | Separate item specifications, production timing and identifiable packs across the full order. | One labelled reference for each construction or finish. |
Choose a supply route for the proposed order
- One repeat furniture construction
- Keep the specification and sample fixed; ask which location supplies it and how a proposed core, veneer or process change reaches the buyer.
- Mixed plywood and MDF items
- Separate grade, gauge, finish and quantity for every line. Confirm item allocation, coordination and bundle labels across the complete mix.
- A connected decorative project
- Keep elevations, part numbers, leaf/panel sequence, coated appearance range and packing order together.
For a multi-origin comparison, use the Vietnam guide and Indonesia construction checks. Keep the MDF item mix in the wholesale MDF schedule; decorative surfaces have their own selection path on fancy plywood.
Ask for item-linked construction information using the plywood manufacturing and purchasing guide. A factory overview helps explain capability; the proposed product, working sample and order records connect it to your purchase.
Factory, exporter or both: identify the order responsibilities
A manufacturer makes the panel; an export company can coordinate products from one or more producing sites. A business can perform both roles. Identify the seller on the contract, the producing location for each item, and the contact responsible for inspection and shipment.
Scroll horizontally to compare all columns.
| Role | Confirm for this order | Keep with the quotation |
|---|---|---|
| Contracting seller | Company issuing the offer, item schedule, commercial terms and order communication. | Current quotation/reference, responsible contact, currency, price unit and named delivery scope. |
| Producing site | Location and producer for the selected panel model, veneer/core/bond and supplied finish. | Actual construction/model, sample identity, relevant product files and proposed change procedure. |
| Inspection coordination | Who identifies the lot, arranges access and completes or coordinates the agreed sampling/checks. | Inspection scope, methods/criteria, stage, records, issue contact and agreed resolution. |
| Export / transport coordination | Who prepares the packing and shipment records and coordinates the quoted delivery leg. | Bundle/item schedule, quantities, gross weights, document list and proposed dispatch/transport plan. |
Compare the complete supply handover
- Material: the price covers the agreed construction/sample; another core or veneer is a separately described alternative.
- Coordination: identify who confirms drawing revisions, mixed-item quantities and packing changes, and give purchasing and receiving the same final schedule.
- Arrival: use one named delivery point and identify which transport, receiving and other services still need their own quotation.
Use the inquiry file checklist to send the schedule and questions still open. For the next purchase, follow the construction and source change-control guide.
Compare China plywood supplier product ranges
CUZI publishes this guide and supplies plywood and MDF. The five supplier websites below were checked on 19 October 2026 for their listed product categories. Use the table to find a relevant inquiry route; request the current construction, producing location and quotation directly from each supplier.
Scroll horizontally to compare all columns.
| Supplier website | Categories listed | Question for your quotation |
|---|---|---|
| Yalong Wood | Plywood, film faced, anti-slip and melamine faced panels. | Compare overlay type, face/reverse and full core for a construction or stock-panel order. |
| Yachen Wood | Film faced, melamine, birch and commercial plywood. | Separate birch-faced from all-birch construction; quote the required core and grade on each item. |
| Chanta Group | Commercial, film faced and fancy plywood, MDF and other boards. | For a mixed load, compare each material’s specification, production timing and pack allocation. |
| Consmos | Construction plywood category including film faced and CDX panels. | Name the structural or formwork requirement and request the offered model’s relevant product data. |
| Linyi Hannuo | Commercial, film faced, fancy and melamine plywood/MDF categories. | For a decorative panel, specify substrate, front, reverse and matching edge together. |

Compare the same construction, unit and delivery point
Send one item schedule to every shortlisted supplier. List the application, face/back, full core, dimensions, bond, quantity and destination. Put each alternative construction on a separate line so a lower price has a clear material description.
Scroll horizontally to compare all columns.
| Price supplied | Convert to USD per sheet | What stays separate |
|---|---|---|
| USD/m³ | Multiply by length × width × thickness in metres. | Face/core changes, processing, packing and delivery scope. |
| USD/m² | Multiply by sheet length × width in metres. | Nominal thickness and construction: equal area can contain different volumes. |
| USD per sheet | Use the stated sheet dimensions and quantity directly. | Any cutting, finishing or transport excluded from that item. |
For a nominal 2440 × 1220 × 18 mm sheet, the volume is 0.0535824 m³. At a chosen calculation input of USD 400/m³, the equivalent is USD 21.43 per sheet. This unit conversion uses nominal dimensions; the purchase price and included services come from the supplier’s quotation.
Key quotation checks
Scroll horizontally to compare all columns.
| Field | Your common requirement | Supplier reply to record |
|---|---|---|
| Application / finish | Drawing revision, visible faces/edges, machining, finish and service conditions. | Proposed product/model, supplied work and open alternatives. |
| Face and core | Face/reverse species, actual grade definition/range and full inner construction. | Veneer/layer/species information and matching sample; every proposed change. |
| Dimensions / fit | Nominal sheet and finished component size, grain direction and required fit/checking basis. | Offered gauge/format/tolerances and supplied cutting or finishing scope. |
| Bond / product data | Named method/class or project criterion where specified, with destination documents. | Relevant offered-model files and results/conditions, document scope and remaining questions. |
| Quantity / packing | Quantity and unit by item, proposed mix, labels and receiving limits. | Item allocation, counts, pack dimensions and measured net/gross weight plan. |
| Price / delivery | Currency/unit, named FOB shipment or CIF destination port and required receiving date. | Dated scope, validity, inclusions/exclusions, payment and production/dispatch/transport assumptions. |
A factory quotation and a delivered stock price have different scopes unless the delivery point and included operations are aligned. Keep the original item fixed when reviewing a lower price. Use the quotation comparison fields and finished-component cost guide to connect the number to the material and services supplied.
Include processing and the complete route to your warehouse
Compare panel cost, supplied machining, your remaining workshop work, packing and transport on the same receiving basis. Add destination charges, duties and inland delivery from the actual route quotation. Use accepted finished parts as the output when cutting or finishing losses affect the purchase.
CUZI regular production takes 7–15 days. Ocean transit, clearance and inland delivery add to that period. Request FOB Qingdao or Lianyungang, or CIF to your destination port, and work back from the date your workshop needs the goods.
For repeat purchasing, record delivered appearance, machining, fit or transit issues by item/lot. Use the RFQ checklist and accepted sample with the corrective discussion and next offer.
Worked order: 600 sheets for 3,400 cabinet sides
Illustrative buying scenario for preparing your own comparison.
- Application
- Cabinet sides with covered faces and machined hardware positions.
- Quantity
- 600 sheets, 2440 × 1220 × 18 mm.
- Fixed priorities
- Thickness fit, cutting quality and the selected bonding requirement.
Scroll horizontally to compare all columns.
| Comparison point | Example information | What to do with it |
|---|---|---|
| Offer A | Names the face, core construction, sample code and item revision. | Evaluate the sample using the cabinet component drawing and actual hardware/process. |
| Offer B | Lists the same face and size, but describes the core only as mixed wood. | Request the complete inner species/layer description and a corresponding sample. |
| A revised B offer | Proposes a different construction for a lower price. | Keep the revised construction as a separate alternative until the same machining/fit/finish trial is reviewed. |
How to use the result
If both proposed models meet the cabinet requirements, compare the full order on the same delivery basis. If one changes the core, record its construction and trial result beside the revised price. Keep any unanswered thickness-fit requirement in the supplier reply before deciding on the joint.
The illustrated quantity gives 600 × 2.44 × 1.22 × 0.018 = 32.14944 m³ net panel volume. A net total is useful for the item schedule; the actual load still needs pack dimensions, counts, gross weights and shipment limits.
From 600 sheets to 3,400 cabinet sides: put the cut plan beside the core offer.
Continue this buying example with a chosen component requirement: 3,400 accepted cabinet sides at 560 × 720 mm, with grain along the 720 mm direction. Suppose the drawing allows the proposed 18 mm panel, each sheet has 10 mm trimmed from every edge, and separating cuts use a 3 mm kerf. These are planning inputs for this calculation; send your own drawing, trim, tooling and appearance rules with the quotation.
Scroll horizontally to compare all columns.
| Planning step | Calculation | Purchase decision |
|---|---|---|
| Usable sheet rectangle | 2440 − 20 = 2420 mm; 1220 − 20 = 1200 mm. | Confirm actual delivered dimensions, edge preparation and which face areas are usable for this item. |
| Six-part layout | Along grain: 3 × 720 + 2 × 3 = 2166 mm. Across grain: 2 × 560 + 3 = 1123 mm. Both fit the chosen usable rectangle. | Use a 3-by-2 layout; keep grain and edge orientation. Check additional tooling, joint, trimming and cosmetic allowances on the final cutting drawing. |
| Geometric output | 600 × 6 = 3600 unmachined blanks; 600 sheets = 1786.08 m² / 32.14944 m³ net panel. | Deduct unsuitable face areas and record losses in machining, fitting and finishing. Confirm cutting output with your process trial; use final bundle dimensions and gross weights for shipment planning. |
| Accepted component target | 3600 planned blanks − 3400 required parts = 200 blanks of headroom, about 5.56% of planned blanks. | Track all losses against this headroom. If actual rejected or unusable blanks exceed 200, this chosen 600-sheet layout misses the target without recovery or more material. |
Compare cost per accepted cabinet side.
For each complete core offer, record the quoted sheet price and the trial results for the actual edge, hardware positions and finish. Use (sheet purchase + supplied processing + remaining workshop work + packing + transport/import/receiving costs) ÷ accepted cabinet sides, with all costs on the same receiving basis and in the same currency. Add separately recorded rework or disposal costs; deduct an offcut recovery value only when you can actually use or sell it.
A less expensive core can be the right purchase when its usable cuts, machining, hardware fit and finished appearance meet the job. Compare each proposed construction using its own trial observations and accepted-part count. Keep measured thickness and core information beside the result, then carry the chosen item and cutting revision into the inspection and packing schedule.

A follow-up message you can adapt
Please quote item CAB-18 against drawing Rev B for 600 sheets. Identify face, back, full core, bond requirement and thickness tolerance. Link the sample code to the offered construction and list any alternative core separately, with the proposed producing site, packing and named delivery scope.
Prepare your inquiry files →Agree the product and import document package early.
Connect the offered model, producer, sample and intended destination with the documents your buyer/project requires. Name the item and methods rather than requesting a general bundle of certificates. Use the product document list before reviewing alternatives.
- Material selection: construction/data sheet, dimensions/tolerances, relevant bond/performance results and offered-model identity.
- Furniture and interiors: the relevant emission certification/report, labels and shipment records for the destination, using the US/EU emission-document guide.
- Specified construction, marine or fire uses: the designer’s requirement and documents for the actual proposed model, construction and intended installation/use.
- Certified sourcing: the required claim and corresponding seller/order/invoice scope; review CUZI’s company and plywood document copies with the selected item.
- Shipment: agreed commercial invoice, packing list, transport records and other destination-required documents with consistent item quantities and descriptions.
Give your customs broker/import adviser the actual construction, species information, origin, destination and proposed shipment. Confirm classification, applicable duties/trade measures, timber-related requirements and the entry document list before settling the delivered cost. The European Commission’s Access2Markets provides a product/route search for EU trade conditions; use the actual route and current requirement in your review.
Keep the technical item file separate from company qualification and shipment records, with the responsible contact and required delivery stage for each. This makes missing documents easier to resolve before dispatch.
Test the component, then connect the sample to shipment
For furniture, trial the machined edge, fitting, profile or complete finished part. For decorative work, compare the selected veneer range, panel sequence and coated corner under the project light. For formwork, identify the proposed overlay/substrate, working edges, holes, fixings and relevant surface/use requirement.
Ask for a labelled proposed-model sample and the matching construction information. Record your actual process, appearance, dimensions/fit and observations beside the quotation line. A small face selection and a full-size or assembled trial have different purposes; choose the format needed for the decision.

Scroll horizontally to compare all columns.
| Order stage | What should stay connected | Question that resolves a gap |
|---|---|---|
| Sales to sample | Quoted construction/model and labelled sample identity. | Does the sample represent the base offer or a separately described alternative? |
| Sample to production | Chosen sample, specification revision, producing location and inspection plan. | Which material/process/site change needs a revised offer or further trial? |
| Production to packing | Item/lot identity, agreed checks, counts, pack/weight/label schedule and shipment records. | Can receiving staff identify each construction and trace the checks without relying on face appearance? |
| Delivery to reorder | Accepted result, inspection observations and resolved corrective changes. | Which construction, sample, process, site and packing details stay the same next time? |
Agree the inspection scope, sampling/methods, measurable criteria, timing, access and issue-resolution contact for the actual lot. Identify what must be reviewed before packing or dispatch and which records accompany the goods. Discuss any buyer-appointed inspection arrangement with the quotation and order plan.
For arrival, compare bundle labels and counts to the packing list, photograph visible condition and record the agreed dimensional/appearance checks. Use the incoming panel inspection guide and download the receiving record. Keep affected items/lot references with any follow-up.
A factory visit or process video can support a supplier conversation. The item specification, sample, producer/lot reference and written change record connect that conversation to the purchase and reorder.

Plan a China panel orderQuestions before sourcing plywood from China.
Should I buy from a factory or an export company?
Compare the item and responsibilities. Identify the company issuing the offer, the actual producer/site and who coordinates sample, inspection, documents and shipment. Choose the route that provides the construction and order handover your programme needs.
What should I send for the first quotation?
Application, dimensions, quantity by item and destination or named port. Add the selected face/core/finish and drawing if available. Mark undecided choices and ask for separate alternatives rather than guessing technical values.
What is the most useful first sample from a China supplier?
Choose the component that resolves the hardest decision: a machined edge, fitting, finished veneer/corner or exposed core. Identify the proposed construction and retain the sample reference with the quotation and workshop observations.
How do I keep a repeat import comparable?
Use a revision-controlled item schedule and list proposed changes. Compare the chosen sample, full construction, producing site, packing and delivery basis before treating a new offer as the same item.
Can CUZI supply a mixed plywood and MDF container?
Yes. The minimum order is one container and mixed loads are available. Keep a separate specification, quantity and unit for each item, then agree the complete pack/count/weight schedule and delivery scope.
Does 7–15 days mean arrival at my port?
No. The 7–15 days cover production, not arrival at your port. It is regular production time. Confirm when production starts, the ready/dispatch plan and the shipping/clearance/inland assumptions separately against your required receiving date.
Do company certificates cover every plywood model?
No. A company management certificate does not establish every product model’s performance or conformity. Review company qualification alongside the product file. Identify the relevant model, construction, intended use and document scope; include the required order/shipment claims and labels where specified. The offered item and your destination determine the package to request.
How should I compare FOB and CIF prices?
Use a named shipment port for FOB and destination port for CIF, with the dated scope, currency and unit. Record included and excluded services, then obtain the destination/import/inland costs needed to compare the same receiving point.
